Double Primed and Sanded Range
This range of boards are our best quality product, boasting a full works production process using multi-million pound machinery and diamond tipped cutting tools, producing a crisp clean edge to each and every profile. The boards then go through the spray chamber for the first time to give the base coat. This coat is then instantly heat dried before being sanded by a high speed de-nibber to remove the burr. The boards are then turned around, and sent back through the spray chamber for a second coat of primer, instantly dried again, and yet again sent back through the de-nibber for a final sanding to produce an exceptional product ready for fitting and a final coat of paint.
These boards are used nationwide by all of the major housebuilders and contractors, and ShenSmith 5.4 boards are specified by the major housing companies in the UK, along with a string of high profile hotel furbishers, and high end retail stores across London and the UK.
Why use MDF for Skirting Board?
MDF is a medium density fibre material which is highly compressed to produce a very hard material which is durable, and ours is moisture resistant. It is much more stable than softwood or hardwood, and a much more consistent product to work with.
How much waste do I need to account for?
This usually depends on your builder, but in any case you would be wise to figure around 10% for wasteage, corners, and joints etc.
